F-Droid repository

Symfonium provides its own binary repositories for F-Droid-compatible clients. These repositories are separate from F-Droid’s default repository, so you must add the appropriate Symfonium repository before the app appears in your client.

Prefer Google Play when available

The repositories are provided as a complimentary alternative for devices that cannot use Google Play. Repository releases are published only after the corresponding Google Play release, so switching to this distribution method will not provide updates sooner.

Repository APKs include all supported CPU architectures. They are therefore larger than the device-specific downloads delivered by Google Play.

Choose the repository for your device

Open the repository hub and choose the production repository that matches your device. Add exactly one Symfonium repository per device: the phone repository for phones and tablets, or the Android TV repository for Android TV devices.

The hub provides direct add links, QR codes, repository fingerprints, and browsable archives for every feed.

Beta repository is for support only

Add the phone and tablet beta repository only when Symfonium support asks you to. Production releases are not published to that feed, so it is not a replacement for the production repository.

Add the repository and install Symfonium

1. Install or open an F-Droid-compatible client on the target device, such as F-Droid, Droid-ify, or Neo Store.
2. Open the repository hub from the link above, choose the production repository for your device, then select Add in F-Droid / Droid-ify. Alternatively, display the hub on another screen and scan the QR code for the correct feed.
3. Review the repository name, URL, and fingerprint shown by your client, then add or enable the repository.
4. Refresh the repository list if needed, find Symfonium, and install or update it.

If the direct add link does not open your client, copy the repository URL displayed on the selected repository page and add it from the client’s repository settings. The interface varies by client; see F-Droid’s guide to adding a repository for the F-Droid workflow.

Downgrades and backups

Downgrades are not supported

Installing an older version can require clearing app data or uninstalling Symfonium, which can cause data loss. Before changing versions or distribution methods, create a backup from Backup & restore and export it outside Symfonium. Do not downgrade unless you understand the consequences.

Symfonium support cannot recover data lost because of a downgrade or incorrect repository use.

The archives on the repository hub let you browse older releases; their availability does not make downgrading safe or supported. See Settings - Backup & restore before making changes that could remove app data.
